Here are a few photos of the 28 wooden pieces for a restoration project for a Jaguar MKII. For most projects like this it’s actually better value for the client to restore the pieces entirely i.e. to replace all the veneer (with their cross-banding). With the numerous Jaguars that I’ve restored I quickly realised that it takes a lot of time to try and repair the many and various areas where the veneer is missing, damaged or come unstuck. This is especially true when trying to match up the grin of missing pieces of veneer, as each veneer has different shapes ands contrasts as they come from different trees.

Please let me reassure you that I’m not saying this to garner more work. My goal is that my clients are happy with the interior of the classic cars. For each project I resotre the woodwork as if it were for my own classic car. And yes, I’m a perfectionist!
